Get Well Foundation Provides Financial Support for Kava and Ginseng Monographs.
The The American Herbal Pharmacopoeia is happy to announce that the Get Well Foundation has provided financial support of $5,000 each towards the development of Monographs and Therapeutic Compendiums for kava root and red Asian ginseng root.

The Get Well Foundation is a non-profit public benefit organization (501c3) based in Oakland, CA. The foundation’s specific purpose is to educate the public and health care providers about natural and alternative therapies which are complements to Western medical practices. Their educational programs include educational seminars, symposiums, workshops, book publishing and distribution, and other activities. They also operate a non-profit clinic in Oakland, CA, hosting classes and symposia, and producing the film “Hope for Chronic Fatigue and Long Covid.” To view the movie for free or for more information, please visit https://www.getwellfoundation.org/

The Get Well Foundation is under the direction of herbalist Mr. Andrew Gaeddert, founder of the Chinese herb company Health Concerns and long-time supporter of AHP. According to Mr. Gaeddert, “For the past 30 years, I have proudly supported the American Herbal Pharmacopoeia (AHP) both individually and through affiliated organizations. I firmly believe that the AHP is one of the most distinguished herbal associations in the United States. The director and staff consistently work tirelessly to provide scientifically validated information on botanicals while honoring the traditions of herbalism. Roy Upton, the founder, has devoted his life to supporting the efficacious use of herbs and is an expert in quality control, sustainability, and plant science. We are happy to provide support for these two very important botanicals.”

AHP President Roy Upton had this to say, “AHP is grateful for the support of monograph development by the Get Well Foundation. Anyone involved in the development of monographs such as those of AHP knows it is tedious, painstaking, and slow work (our sincere apologies). However, once completed, they represent the most comprehensive and critically reviewed information on that particular botanical in the English language. Almost anything a researcher, regulator, analytical lab, QC/QA, regulatory, educator, health professional, or consumer needs to know can be found in one place, replete with illustrative guidance on all aspects of identity and quality control. We love our work and we are grateful when others show their kindness and generosity through their support. Sincere thanks to the Get Well Foundation and its director Mr. Andrew Gaeddert, a longtime personal friend, professional colleague, and AHP supporter.”
